Fresh and inviting, The Red Bird is one of four thoughtfully designed tiny treehouse cabins tucked into the woods in Alvord, Texas — a peaceful retreat for two.

Just an hour from DFW, this 14×12 tiny cabin features warm, natural textures and a light, modern feel. It’s the perfect place to unwind and reconnect. Inside, you'll find a plush king bed, blackout curtains, smart TV, WiFi, a mini fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and a small workspace. Step outside to your private porch seating and enjoy the peaceful woodland setting.

Bedroom & Bathhouse

1 King Bed in your room. Private bathroom access in the bathhouse located 200 ft away. Each bathroom includes a walk-in shower, toilet, and vanity, and is locked for your exclusive use.

At night, stroll the softly lit sidewalks to and from your cabin, relax in your private hammock, or gather at your picnic table under the trees.

During your stay, you may meet Tito, our friendly black cat mascot, who loves greeting guests and keeping critters away!

4Forty4 Ranch provides easy access to over 20,000 acres of trails, scenic views, and outdoor adventure in the LBJ National Grasslands, and the property itself is situated on 30+ private wooded acres — perfect for quiet exploration, nature walks, or simply relaxing outdoors.

You’re also just minutes from NRS Ranch, Eagles Canyon Raceway, and several wedding venues. Plus, you’ll have access to our community Pickleball Court — bring your paddles and challenge your travel partner to a game! Unwind by the fire pit, take a stroll by the pond, or simply enjoy the serenity of the forest.

✨ Need more space? There are three other identical cabins on-site, each sleeping two guests. You can also rent the entire property and enjoy full privacy for up to eight guests — perfect for small events or group gatherings.

This property is managed by The Bear Cabins in BB, LLC. Your host is available by text, message, or call during your stay! After booking, you’ll be asked to complete a pre-arrival form, submit ID, and sign our rental agreement. Self check-in code will be sent 3 days before arrival.

We all truly enjoyed our stay at 4Forty4 cabins in Decatur/Alvord Texas. We also loved the Wise county Park beach over in Chico, Texas. Even though it was hot weather, the breeze off the lake made for a perfect relaxing day at the beach. I recommend a pop-up tent and a cooler for drinks. The water was pretty clear for a lake. Boating would have been fun also or paddle boarding. Our family enjoyed the time swimming and cooling off while the kids made sand figures. The cabins here were very comfortable and the natural habitat was peaceful. We saw deer, all kinds of birds, roadrunners, jack rabbits, and armadillos. It was a great country experience away from the city!

- Very communicative and helpful hosts. - very well kept premises and facilities. Clean private bathrooms. - good clean bedroom. - small communal gaming area Came here on sudden couple getaway. Great for glamping or camping if that’s what you’re looking for. Other than that, it’s just a small pond. If you’re going as a couple, go for a peaceful evening. You won’t being going anywhere nearby so it’s definitely a getaway. I think the place would really shine for a large group as it’d be more exciting. All 4 cabins are next to each other so it’s good for a communal night. I would reserve again if I’m bringing a group of friends.

Pictures did not do it justice! If you’re looking for a peaceful get away that’s still within driving distance of a city this is the place! Local recommendations came in very handy as well!

Everything was lovely! The private bathrooms were nice and easy/close to get to. Room was clean and super cute! I personally could have used a little help w/ how to control the temperature easier (instructions on how). I would say the cabins a little closer than what I felt was described, though it didn't lower my opinion of the place at all. I think they should include the pond on the description and what kind of fish are in there if any (also more accurate on when was stocked!). Otherwise a cute place for a quick get away!

It was a peaceful place. Super cute, close to town so food and things were just a short drive away. We got the red bird that was closest to the pond and it was such a spectacular view. I aside from the sand that was on the comforter, it was clean. I would definitely be back.

Perfect for a weekend getaway. The kayaks were a great addition to the pond. The place is quiet, peaceful, and conveniently close to Decatur for shops and food. Definitely looking to book again in the future.
